Almost-Cures
Treatments. Things that may get you back on your feet again, without actually eliminating the root cause of the problem.
Types/Categories:
1. Medical/homeopathic almost-cures: Natural treatments. Palliative care. "Take two aspirin and call some nurse's answering machine in the morning."
2. Surgical almost-cures: There are lots of "procedures" to choose from. Sometimes removing the offending part may be somewhat helpful.
3. Psychological almost-cures: Ignoring the problem sometimes works splendidly. Talking things over with your pet often helps. Massage. Hypnosis. Hot Bath. A daily dose of the Comedy channel.
Examples:

Masking your problem by indulging in a more light-hearted diversion may almost-work for a while, but then . . . . guess what, you still have a problem.
Sometimes problems fix themselves (go away), . . . eventually.
Sometimes increasing your firepower enables you to turn "almost-cure" into "cure."
Sometimes you can find out for yourself what the cure (or almost-cure) might be. You just have to keep reading . . . .
